Asbestos in Schools
ChemRisk was retained in a lawsuit involving a former student housekeeper at
a university that was diagnosed with mesothelioma and claimed to have been
involved with a renovation project that took place in the early 1980’s
where portions of an acoustical plaster ceiling were removed.
ChemRisk provided litigation support and expert witness testimony.
ChemRisk evaluated the building abatement records, air monitoring data, health department inspections, and case specific materials.
Using our understanding of the abatement activities and asbestos air
concentrations from the published literature, we calculated the plaintiff’s
likely cumulative dose of asbestos.
